NATIS online booking is a convenient method to reserve any of the eNATIS (online.natis.gov.za) services from the comfort of your own home. As a result of the COVID 19 outbreak shutdown phase in March 2020, several Driving Licence Testing Centres were shuttered for the remainder of 2019 and the majority of 2020. The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) has accumulated applications for driver’s license tests. Due to this backlog and the need for health and safety procedures, South Africans should arrange an appointment online. RMTC utilizes the National Traffic Information Systems (NATIS) department to provide the public with the ability to “download forms for most vehicle and driving license transactions, access the address and contact details of your nearest service centre, find answers to frequently asked questions, participate in forums (registration required), download statistics, and read the most recent news about system enhancements and performance.” Your NaTIS record may also be referred to as your car registration certificate.
The National Traffic Information System (NATIS) online booking system is a portal that delivers the following services to motorists:
- Schedule a learners permit exam,
- Apply for a commercial driver’s license
- Schedule a driver’s license exam,
- Renew a driver’s license that has expired,
- Verify the validity of their licenses, and
- Renewal of driver’s license.
This article will assist you in understanding how to utilize the online service portal without having to visit the post office or traffic department. We describe the prerequisites for your use case, the application form you’ll need to fill out, and the location where you may get them.
Booking a Learners Licence Test
In order to operate a motor vehicle in South Africa, a Learners Permit is required. You cannot get a driver’s license without a learners permit initially. Unless you are riding a motorcycle, a learner’s permit is simply a temporary license that permits you to drive on public roads under the supervision of an experienced driver. On motorcycles, those with restricted licenses are not permitted to take passengers.
